Which Balsam Hill tree did you decorate and what feature did you like most about it?

I decorated the Pinehurst Spruce, and I LOVE how real it looks! I can put real greenery right up next to the tree, and it truly is hard to tell the difference. I also love that it's easy to set up – I could put it together by myself without assistance, which was awesome.

What ornaments did you use to adorn the tree? Did you have any particular favorites?

I used the Nordic Frost Ornament Set (along with some silver and red ornaments I already owned), and though I loved them all, I think the silvery white pinecones were my very favorites. All of the Balsam Hill ornaments were gorgeous and well made and really brought a lot to the tree.

Where do you get your decorating inspiration from?

I am typically inspired by whatever is going on in our life at the moment! We had just moved into a new house that overlooks an orchard and faces a lot of farmland shortly before my tree went up this year, so though I always lean toward "classic Christmas" decorating, I think my tree also had a little hint of an outdoorsy or country type vibe this year.

Do you have special techniques when decorating a tree?

I usually try to work out which accessories like picks or ribbon I'm going to use first, and then select the ornaments after that. I also try to change up my tree a little bit from year to year based on what decor themes or trends I'm really loving at that particular time. It is fun to look back over all of our old tree photos and see how each one went along with the phase of life we were in at the time.

How would you describe your finished look?

I would describe our tree as "Classic Christmas" this year, with the red, silver, black and white color scheme. And traditional ornaments and star topper.
