Geckos? They are green... Used to freak me out a lil when I first moved here. Now they're my buddies. I assume they eat bugs? What specifically do they eat? Scorpions by chance? Crickets? Anything I can do to make their life easier? |

I've seen them on mine too. Very skittish. I've also wondered about their relationship with scorpions. Lizards have never bothered me, so I just ignore them. They usually seem to just be catching some sun anyhow. |

I've never seen green ones, but I do see lots of brown/grey ones. They are bug eaters. The good guys. __________________ My posts as moderator will be in red. |

The geckos here aren't usually green, its probably some other sort of lizard. And no, you have NOTHING to worry about. They are all harmless (minus the Gila Monster), eat pests, and are fun to watch. Don't try to catch one, though, they can drop their tails (defense mechanism) and its very stressful to them. Not to mention the fact that they will be tailless for awhile until they grow a new tail. |

I love those little things... I havent seen them yet but its cool to know we have them in Arizona like in Florida. Absolutely harmless little critters. As mentioned, dont chase as it can stress them out. To be fair, depending on your home, you may put a small plant by the window to get them out/have something for them to rest on. Preferable grassy plants. To my knowledge, depending on the lizard, they may not survive in your home due to climate issues. As for what they eat, depending on size, if you WANT to feed them, you can buy crickets at Petsmart for like, 14 cents. But idk why you would want crickets roaming your home. they will chirp in cooler areas and at night. And if youre not expecting them, they may scare the bee-jee-bus out of you since at a glance, you might think theyre roaches or something. Plus, since you think they might eat scorpions, sounds like theyre rather large? The good news is, they eat gnats, other small bugs and are pretty awesome to watch. Would love if you could provide pictures. Itll make it easier to figure out what species they are. I actually work with animals so I migt be able to pin point something with a better idea of what it looks like, ex: size, color, patterns (if any, like spots), tail size, really long compared to body? Smaller than body? A little bigger than body?) face features, (long snout? smush face?) eye coloring/size (Big bulgy eyes? Small, narrow eyes? Black? Brown? etc), ear size? Can you see the holes? Too tiny to see? Any details can help. |

They do scare the hell out of me sometimes when I come across them in the garage though. |

They do NOT eat scorpions. Only things I know that eat scorpions around here are birds and cats...and the cats just like to play with them and then drop them off in the house. |

Inside and outside. A cat of mine liked to bring them in, and I'd release the ones that were still alive. The ones that weren't were ALWAYS missing tails. One day I was cleaning and found a little pike of tails in a far corner! __________________ My posts as moderator will be in red. |
